Meghan Markle's first appearance at Wimbledon since becoming the Duchess of Sussex was met with much excitement. But some eagle-eyed fans spotted something familiar about her choice of outfit.

Arriving wearing a blue-and-white striped Ralph Lauren shirt, with a pair of cream, silk, wide-leg Ralph Lauren pants, the Duchess looked effortlessly chic, as always. But by choosing to wear blue and white, Meghan looked strangely similar to some of the members of staff at Wimbledon.

Several fans of the Duchess noticed the similarities, and took to Twitter to point out that Meghan appears to have taken style notes from the line judges at Wimbledon. For reference, a line judge or umpire "is responsible for calling the lines on the tennis court," so as to ensure that the score of each match is kept correctly.

And it's certainly true that there's a slight resemblance between Meghan's Ralph Lauren look and the line-judge uniforms at Wimbledon:

It's very possible that the Duchess wanted to wear an outfit inspired by the event she was attending. But despite any unexpected comparisons, Meghan's look is definitely in keeping with her signature style:

Meghan is, of course, attending the women's final alongside her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. As Meghan's close friend, Serena Williams, is playing in the final, the new Duchess turned out to show her support.

Even though the Duchess of Cambridge is still technically on maternity leave, she kept Meghan company throughout. From whispering to one another in the royal box, to making each other laugh a little too much, Meghan and Kate's friendship appears to be blossoming.
