CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Remains found in Cumberland County have been confirmed to be missing Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Bordeaux, Fayetteville police said.
Police said Bordeaux's remains were found one mile north of Interstate 295 on River Road with the assistance of the suspect, WTVD reported.
The suspect has been identified as Nicholas Holbert.
Police have considered Holbert as a person of interest since Bordeaux disappeared from Froggy Bottoms on April 14, 2012.
Bordeaux, who was 23 years old when she disappeared, was assigned to Fort Bragg's 601st Area Support Medical Company, 261st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, 44th Medical Brigade, as a health service specialist.
